SOUTH GOBI PROVINCE

Travel south to the Gobi Desert to attend the renowned "Thousand Camel Festival," organized by a local non-governmental organization working to protect and preserve the Bactrian camel population, which has been steadily declining over the past twelve years. This extraordinary festival allows travelers a rare opportunity to interact with and learn first-hand about these amazing animals and the camel herders' nomadic lifestyle.

Highlights of the festival include camel races, performances by traditional Mongolian musicians and dancers, and visits to significant paleontological and cultural sites of the Gobi. Attend the camel races at the Thousand Camel Festival, a unique opportunity to witness the speed and agility of Bactrian camels. 

Program:

Day 1 : Flight Hong kong to Beijing and connecting flight Beijing to Ulan Bator at 21.10. Arrive Ulan Bator at 23.30. Transfer to the hotel

Day 2: Full day city tour: Monastery Ganden, Winter Palace, Museum, cashemire factory. Meals: B+L+D

Day 3:  Flight to the Gobi and take part in the 1st day of the Camel festival. Enjoy the opening parade etc. Meals and stay overnight at tourist ger camp. Meals: B+L+D

Day 4&5: Camel Festival days: Camel racing, Competition between Beautiful Camel Rider Couples, Visit to the local school concert, Camel Polo etc. Meals and stay overnight at the tourist ger camp. Meals: B+L+D

Day 6: A day excursion to the Bayanzag, Flaming Cliffs and the Yoliin Am gorge in the Gurvan Saikhan national park. Tourist ger camp.  Meals:  B+L+D

Day 7: Return flight to Ulaanbaatar, connecting flight to Beijing at 22.00. Arrive Beijing at 00.00 and transfer by free shuttle bus to the airport hotel. Meals: B only

Day 8: Transfer to the airport for flight back to Hong Kong. Meals: B only
